Introduction

DigiLocker is a digital document platform created as part of the Government of India's Digital India initiative. It enables the students to access, download, save and share educational documents from participating education boards and institutions. However, in some cases, the students may find that their Class 10th and Class 12th marksheet is not available in their account even after they have declared their examinations results.

The problem is due to the marksheet not being published by the relevant board, incorrect selection of the issuing board or incorrect academic information provided in the search query. Knowing the reason can help students pull the documents without any delays.

Why Is My DigiLocker Marksheet Not Showing?

The issue could be due to the availability of the document, account information, or the method you've been using to retrieve the certificate from your DigiLocker mark sheet. The following are some common reasons:

  • Marksheets are not uploaded: The respective Board or Institution might not have made the mark sheets available in DigiLocker or the National Academic Depository (NAD).

  • Incorrect academic details: If you enter a wrong roll number, examination year or any other information required then the system may not be able to find your marksheet.

  • Wrong education board/institution: Selecting an incorrect education board or institution can result in missing documents.

  • Account problem: The students may be using a different DigiLocker account from the one that is associated with academic records.

  • Temporary server issues: If a document cannot be retrieved, it may be due to temporary issues on the server or a problem with the application or Internet connection.

Class 12th Marksheet DigiLocker Not Showing: What Should You Do?

If the student does not have a class 12th mark sheet, he or she should repeat the retrieval procedure. However, they need to be sure to select the right board and examination details. For instance, CBSE students can check out their CBSE Class XII marksheet on the CBSE issuer section. If having passed out of any State Board or other educational institution, students should select their respective Board which is available on the website. Do the following tests:

  • Verify roll no and Exam year information.

  • Select the appropriate board and document type.

  • Try and retrieve, if not, view the Issued Documents section.

  • When a successful request is made, but the document is not shown, please sign out and sign in again.

  • Try to see whether the board has made the digital mark sheet available for your exam session.

If following these checks it is still not available, please reach out to your school or board. The institution that issued the original academic record can publish or amend it. Other DigiLocker accounts can solve the problem only if the board has already given the marksheet.

Can I Use DigiLocker Marksheet for Admission and Verification?

Yes, it can be used in general for admission to education and other purposes such as verification of documents etc. as per the receiving Institution using an authentic mark sheet generated from DigiLocker.

DigiLocker has provided rules and framework that stipulate that documents that are issued digitally are treated as documents issued physically. Additionally, the official NAD FAQ lists that employers and educational institutions will accept electronic academic certificates.

Students should know that the marksheet issued by the school and the mark sheet scanned and uploaded to their personal DigiLocker Drive are different. Documents submitted by self- collection will not be considered as a document that is verified by the issuer. Prior to handing in your marksheet, take into account the following:

  • If an original digital certificate is required, then the certificate issued, located at the bottom of the marksheet in the Issued documents section, should be used.

  • Make sure that the name, roll number, Examination year and mark are correct.

  • Share the document through the digital sharing/verification system provided, when requested.

  • Follow any other guidance given by the college, university and/or recruitment authority/receiving organisation.

  • If this procedure is provided within the institution, keep a hardcopy if necessary by the institution.

What to Do If Your Marksheet Is Still Missing

If you have not been able to retrieve your mark sheet despite following the instructions above, you should follow up by contacting the relevant authority. First, check with your school/college if your examination records have been submitted to the board concerned or published on DigiLocker-NAD. If it does not exist in digital form, ask for information on when it will be available.

State Boards and Universities, see if the institution is part of the DigiLocker-NAD system and whether the academic records are published. Availability may vary from institution to institution and examination session to examination session. In case the issuer says that your document is available and you still don't have it, submit a request on the authorized DigiLocker support portal.

If it is a complaint, describe the problem and use the proper support mechanism to give the examiner the details needed for the examination. Do not provide your Aadhaar number, OTP or any other personal data on unofficial websites or to strangers
